Rush by Lexy Timms
Rush is book one of a steamy race car romance and book one of the Racing Hearts series.
This story is set in Los Angeles and brings together a street race car driver and the daughter of a race track owner. James Wolf made himself an enemy on the day that he won the car of his opponent ‘X’, but he also boosted his reputation as the best street racer in the city.
Nic is the daughter of a professional car racing team owner who has been brought up on the sidelines of racing, and is keen to prove that she can earn her place on the team. There’s just one problem: her father. Nic will do anything to show him she’s good enough, and has a plan to leave her father’s chosen driver behind her in the next race.
The street racing and Wolf’s background add a dark element to this storyline, while Nic comes from money and a privileged background. This is the start of an enemies-to-lovers story which will continue in book two. I enjoyed the setting and the fast pace of the story. Note that this book ends on a cliff-hanger.

Book Description:
Live life at full throttle…
Street racing. Crews. Late-night travels.
Just another day in the life of James Wolford. Racing is his life, and money is his game. And he’ll stop at nothing to make sure he gets what he wants.
Including pissing off the baddest of the racers on the block. However, when a race goes wrong and a black SUV cuts him off, James is thrust into the limelight of professional racing and the secrets even the light has to hold.
His eye is on the finish line, but his boss’s beautiful daughter is distracting, to say the least. And she harbors a secret of her own that could mean the end of his own professional racing career.
Can James juggle professional and personal? Can he shake the angry racing gang following his tail?
Or will his dreams of having a good life for himself crash into a guard rail before it crosses the finish line?
That’s a new one for me – a steamy car race novel!
