Welcome to Day 24 of Romancing September Across The World Tour. Today our guest is Georgina Troy. Catch up with more from Georgina in a few hours with the second part of our tour when Stephanie chats to her.
Where is your home town?
My home town is St Ouen on the north-west coast of the island of Jersey, 15 miles off the coast of France.
How long have you been writing romance?
About eight years.
What is your favourite sub-genre of romance?
Contemporary women’s fiction
What does Bea do for a living?
She’s a trust officer looking after the private trusts and companies of wealthy clients.
Tell us what she does after losing her god-mother and discovering her husband’s affair.
She employs a grumpy, but handsome builder, Luke, to help with the renovations of the rundown, twenties home she’s inherited from her godmother and tries to find a way to keep the house.
Tell us about the mysterious legacy her aunt (god-mother) left her in her Will.
All she knows about it is the name, A Jersey Kiss, but she has no idea what it can be, so finding it proves more difficult than she expected.
Who comes back into her life?
Tom is an ex-boyfriend, who she went out with when they were both at university, he returns to the island and is her new Manager at work. Meeting up with him causes Bea all sorts of problems.
You recently signed a four-book deal with Accent Press, can you tell us more about the four books?
They are a series of stand-alone romances set in Jersey. Book 1 – A Jersey Kiss – is out today! The second book, A Jersey Affair will be out soon and the other two following on in the next few months.
Tell us what you are working on at the moment.
I’m drafting the third book in the series, A Jersey Dreamboat. It’s the story of two girls, Izzy and Jessica, whose business hiring out vintage crockery and linen, is put in jeopardy. Their entire collection is booked for a two-week period at the busiest time of the year for the society wedding of a wealthy local man’s daughter. Unfortunately, she elopes just before the wedding, too late for them to find replacement bookings and recoup their losses. Izzy’s brother introduces them to two French brothers and they invite the girls to make up the numbers on a three-week cruise to the South of France. Izzy and Jess arrive at the brothers’ family home to meet the rest of the group only to discover they live in a chateau and the brothers are Counts. And then the fun begins…

Best of luck with your debut book, Georgiana, (lovely name BTW); and congratulations on the 4 book deal, too! I love Jersey, I visited there many years ago when I was a student. My Best Mate of over 30 years has just moved to live and work on Sark – so a visit to the Channel Islands is imminent! Caroline x

I like the sound of this. I used to live on Jersey and love the island. We used to go to the five mile beach a lot with my dog.

How lovely, Cathy! I live near that beach and often walk my dog there too. That beach is so wild and breathtakingly beautiful.

“A Jersey Kiss” seems to have Bea in for a long journey with trying to figure out the legacy that her godmother left her, dealing with her death, dealing her husband’s affair, and future romantic prospects. I am looking forward to see how her journey prospers and how her characters develop throughout the book. And from what you mentioned about your book series, it seems like it will be fun to read, especially the 3rd one in the series.
Congratulations on your 4 book deal! And Good Luck!!
