About Rosie Amber

Thank you for stopping by and taking a break from the chaos of life. Take the weight off of your feet for a while and find something about your day to smile about; thank you for becoming part of my world, if just for a minute or two. It’s a shame you can’t smell the roses, but if you take a virtual stroll around I hope you’ll find a book you might like to curl up with, some useful advice if you’re a writer or blogger, or one of my more personal pieces that you may find interesting. On Saturday’s you’ll stumble across a gardening post as I talk about my growing appreciation for plants and wildflowers.

I was brought up in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. I started blogging to combine a love of reading with a desire to embrace social technology; since then it’s developed into a passion to introduce avid readers to new writers, and offer a platform for little-known talent.

I review nearly all the books that I read, and post to Goodreads and Amazon UK. Aside from this blog, you’ll see my reviews posted on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram. Recently I have been submitting relevant reviews to TripFiction. I take submissions for my personal reading list, and also have a review team with approximately 20 active readers; if you would like to submit your book, please click the ‘Your Book Reviewed’ page, above.

I am so grateful for the support from visitors to my blog, and all you have done to spread the word about it on social media, not least of all nominating me for online blog awards.  I was proud to be awarded runner-up in ‘Best Book Blog’ award in 2016, in the Bloggers Bash, and third place in 2015 and 2017. Our blog is in the top 20 UK book blogs on Feedspot, number 2 spot on Ranked Read’s Book Reviewer list and it appears on many other listings of book bloggers.

The Rosie Amber blog is an ever-growing, ever evolving entity, and my wish is to continue to provide a great service to readers, writers and blog addicts everywhere.  Comments always welcome ~ enjoy!

  1. I love your book reviews. Very simply stated without a lot of hype. Thanks for wandering to my blog and following. I am currently working on getting an improved book cover image. Once that is done I would like to have my book reviewed. I plan to start a more aggressive marketing campaign also. Keep me in mind and congratulations on your own book 🙂

  2. Hello, Nice to meet you! You seem to be winning awards by the dozen, congratulations on that. I was recommended by a friend, who follows you, to stop by and check out your blog. I belong to the same writing group as her and have just self published a book, giving the proceeds to charity. Please take a look if you get the chance. I see you review books, so I can find some tips at the same time. thank you 🙂

  3. Hi Rosie, I’m so happy I found you. I was spending a lot of energy pursing quality reviews instead of writing more. A blogger who provides more than one is such a rare treasure. Your book review team is a wonderful idea. I haven’t encountered other bloggers who do this for authors. Your blog makes it clear that love and support of books are a driving force in your life. You’ve made a cozy spot here for all book lovers. I enjoy the roses!

  5. Hello Rosie
I have only just found you and I’m so pleased. I live in the garden of England so I understand your love of roses.
I’m with Tirgearr Publishing and write for the pure love of it.
I’ve signed up to follow so I’m looking forward to reading your blogs.

  6. Hi Rosie. In the melee that was Bloggers Bash, it was perhaps inevitable that I wouldn’t get to speak to everyone – and you were one of those I missed. In spite of what must now seem like a gaping hole in your day, I hope you enjoyed the event. It was my second and, short of serious illness or injury, I will be at the third. So I hope we will actually speak at the next one. In the mean time, congratulations on coming second in the Book Review category.
I look forward to reading your reviews – and probably asking for one (when I can get my act together). Keep up the good work – we writers need all the support we can get.

    • Thank you Graeme, I was trying to do the rounds, a daunting process at times, whilst other moments I felt there just wasn’t enough time to get to know everyone. Thanks for dropping by the blog, let’s see what we can find for you of interest.

      • If it’s any consolation, there were only about 20 of us last year, and I still didn’t get to talk to everyone.
Shelley suggested a “speed dating” element could be included in future, which I thought was a good idea. I’ve passed it on to Sacha. We may only get a couple of minutes, but at least we could speak to everyone.

  8. Hello Rosie. I seem to have found your blog by a very circuitous route via Twitter (which I’m quite new to) and another author tweeting about one of your book reviews. I’m very glad I did! Your site is lovely, as is your name. I can smell your roses (probably in their second flush, as are ours) from here – which is Nottinghamshire. I’ll look forward to following you from now on.

  9. Hi dear Rosie, I just wanted to check in and let you know how much I appreciate it when I see a like from you on one of my posts 🙂 It was such a pleasure to share the Good Deeds weeks with you, and I have so enjoyed witnessing your blog going from strength to strength in its passionate support of indie writers and their books. You are a phenomenon my friend! Hugs and blessings, Harula xx
