The #RBRT Reviewer Profiles – Georgia Rose @GeorgiaRoseBook

Rosie's Book Review team 1

Reviewers on the #RBRT are very busy hard working people who give their time freely, so I thought it was about time readers had the chance to meet them and find out a bit more about them.

Georgia enjoys reading; Serious romance/relationship reads with a suspenseful, action, adventure element involved and psychological and crime thrillers ideally, but will try pretty much anything and have been constantly surprised by how much she has liked the different genres she’s tried via #RBRT.

When reviewing for the team Georgia prefers books in;  Mobi

Hobbies & Interests? My hobby is my writing, although I treat it like a business, reading (obviously!), I have a lifelong passion for horses and I have two dogs, Poppy and Ruby, who delight in accompanying me on the interviews I have with other authors.

Reading Soft edge

I asked, “What new genres have you tried from the review team list?” Urban fantasy and post-apocalyptic.

“What genres make you step out of your comfort zone?” Both of the above! Chicklit…zombies…real pixie laden fantasy stuff.

“What do you look for in a book?” I love a great story that is well told, it’s as simple as that and I can find it in many different types of writing.

“Book Styles you don’t enjoy?” I guess I wouldn’t take on anything along the epic line nowadays – the thought of a 700 page novel in front of me with my time-squeezed days would be off putting. Also if I’m going to tackle a series/trilogy I would want to start at the beginning. Otherwise anything goes!

“Do you read & review Non-Fiction?” No, though I have some waiting for me that I really should get to but my reading time is so limited I always just want to climb into a great story instead.

  1. Bonjour, Georgia! Something I noticed – your first genre of choice is the one you write. I’m sure that’s a hugely positive trait and one I should probably have too! Glad I got you reading a post-apoc, though… when I discovered them I thought, how come I never read this stuff before??!!

Oh dear, mine is still three time as long as this… I gave a list with bullet points for the ‘genres of choice’, and as for ‘what do you look for in a book’ – it’s nearly a page long. I’ll have everyone asleep before they get to that bit, though.

    As with my comments. :O

  2. Hi Terry, you know before I ever started on this writing malarkey I never gave much thought to genre, all I knew was that I liked there to be a dark edge to whatever I read. It was noted at my village jumble sale recently that the ‘Romantic’ writer was carrying around a pile of psychological thrillers and I guess that is my favourite – can’t be doing with anything sugary sweet 🙂

I am looking forward to my next post-apoc read (coming soon!) and thank you for that introduction 🙂 I am sure yours will be wonderful because we’re all usually scrabbling around to find something to read each day 😉 haha!

Many thanks Rosie for this great post and I shall look forward to all those to come.
