Now three-quarters of the way through National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and writers across the globe are busy writing their 50000 word novel in this exciting challenge.
The object of the exercise is to complete a new novel in just 30 days, upload it to the site, get it verified and you are a winner. Winners are shown on the winners page, they get a winners certificate and a web badge.
Check out more details on the link below and good luck everyone who is frantically typing away as you read this blog.
I love entering competitions, any sort, my family moan sometimes when I tell them about my recent entries. I love the thrill of the possible win. So today I had a little look around the net for competitions for writers. Just a five-minute look revealed loads. Many seem to have an entry fee, but I thought I’d share my findings with you all.
www.bridportprize.org.uk This is a creative writing competition with several categories. Closing date 31st May 2013
www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/short-stories/prizes this website listed quite a few competitions.
www.writersdigest.com this website had several closed competitions, but I trawled to the bottom and found some that were still open.
Do check out the T&Cs, but it’s another way of getting paid for doing something you love!
