Regency Christmas Liaisons by Christine Merrill
4 stars
Regency Christmas Liaisons comprises three novellas, festive-themed historical romances; each one can easily be read in one sitting. A poor relative, a widow and a divorcee all find romance without looking for it. The novella format and the Christmas settings help bring the stories to swift conclusions.
I rather liked the no-nonsense Daffy in story one, while I was reminded of distant relatives each time I read the name of the character Charles Pallister.
In book two I enjoyed the harsh wintery Somerset setting, which gave the story a bit of a Gothic tone.
The third story is mainly set in Yorkshire; again the setting is superb as the Yorkshire Moors have long been a favourite place of mine.
I don’t wish to give away any more about each story, just know that they are stories from three authors which give you a chance to delve into their styles of writing. I know from past experience after reading similar formats that it has encouraged me to seek out more from each author that I have enjoyed.

With three sensual, seasonal stories!
In Unwrapped under the Mistletoe by Christine Merrill, Charles is hired to catch supposedly light-fingered poor relation Daphne, but steals a kiss under the mistletoe!
In One Night with the Earl by Sophia James, widow Elizabeth seeks refuge for herself and her young twins. Brooding Lord Grey might just provide that Christmas miracle!
And in A Most Scandalous Christmas by Marguerite Kaye, will the dashing stranger who Lady Sylvia scandalously joked with about a Christmas liaison make good on his promise?
