Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis

Prince of Wolves (The Grey Wolves, #1)Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I liked it, I liked the intense romance between Jacque and Fane, it was like a delicious bar of chocolate.

Fane is a foreign exchange student from Romania but when he moves to Coldspring Texas he finds his soul mate lives just across the road. There’s more to Fane than meets the eye, much more. He’s a werewolf, in fact he’s Prince of the Romanian Greys, and in Jacque he recognises his future mate.

Jacque and her girlfriends are enjoying the last few weeks before returning to high school and are excited by the prospect of a hottie student moving in. Jacque’s friends Jen and Sally are viciously loyal and support her through the madness which descends upon their lives. Everything is moving too fast for Jacque and the girls need to be there for her when another wolf challenges Fane for Jacque.

I liked the input of the Romanian words and the way the author wrote about the relationship between man and wolf, the telepathy was fun too. I’m undecided if the story had too many echoes of Twilight or just coincidences. With this being the first book in a long series I’m sure it will take on more of its own persona in the next few books. I was sad when the book ended without the couple bonding but perhaps that would have left no room for the storyline to continue.
