This was such a great book to go along with the Mayhem Series. It was so enlightening, entertaining, awe inspiring, and it may be my favorite so far of the Mayhem Series. I love Shawnee Daniels and her interactions with Mr. Mayhem and Poe. This story was so much more than I was expecting, and I loved every bit of it.

Shawnee’s life is in more danger than she’s ever been in this fourth book in the Mayhem Series, but she’ll get guidance and help from the most unexpected people. She’ll learn that her life was not what she thought, and she will be led to a new path in life. Her relationship with Mr. Mayhem will reach a point of dangerous proportions and they will have to figure out how to proceed when truths are brought to light. This book is such a turning point in Shawnee’s life, and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here. I love the characters in this book and series and with the addition of Shicheii, I am excited to see what knowledge Shawnee will learn as she gets to know him more. This book had me laughing at Shawnee’s cats, but it also had me crying with loss and the enlightening of Shawnee and her past, as well as being anxious with Levaughn on his search for Shawnee and her best friend Nadine. I give this book a 5-star review and can’t wait for more of Shawnee Daniels and Mr. Mayhem. If you like books in the murder suspense genre with great characters and sassy, independent women that find themselves in all kinds of trouble, you will love Sue Coletta’s books.

His goal was to make her think she was losing her mind and he was succeeding. It took the help of others to accomplish his goal and left Leah in a situation where she did not know who she could confide in about what was happening to her. Making blue stuffed bunnies giving me the creeps now.

Leah Brand was happy for short period of time with her husband and two babies, until tragedy struck, and she was left widowed, childless, and grieving for her loss. She also had her own injuries to overcome. It was a long road to regain her strength and get her life back to a new normal. When she runs into Mason Brand, literally, a new life is set in front of her and she’s happy again, but that all changes two years into the marriage and a new loss for her new family. Things begin to change for Leah, and she’s being convinced that she is losing her mind.

I really enjoyed reading this book and did not put it down until I finished it at 2:45 AM. It is a story of deception, betrayal, strange happenings, and a woman that just wants to have a happy life and be loved. The things that Leah is put through would make anyone think they are going crazy. The characters in this story kept me wondering who was setting Leah up even when I thought I knew, by the time I got to the end of the story, I was still questioning everything I read. I love a story like this. The suspense of the story had the pages turning and my interest in the book for the entire read. I give this story a 5-star review and hope that I can get true and final answers about this story. It left me wanting so much more.

Psychological thriller that will have you wondering what’s going on, and who you can trust.

Kyle is angry that the police won’t do anything to find his missing wife. She didn’t come home from work and he has no idea where she could be. The police won’t help because she hasn’t been missing long enough to begin a search. Kyle will organize a search and things get more questionable at the end of the day.

Hannah is surprised that Kyle is interested in her. She just started this job and she’s quiet and shy. Kyle and Hannah have a good relationship until after they get married. Hannah isn’t sure what caused the change, but she’s wary of everything now and walks on eggshells.

I enjoyed this book, but I found that there were some gaps as to what was happening and how things progressed. The story is told mostly in the female character perspective. Only the first chapter is in Kyle’s perspective. Which I found interesting and different. I loved the plot and the way that the story was done in the sense that it kept me wondering what was going on, where Hannah was, how she got to where she was, was she being mistreated, was she in danger, and how things would turn out. I love a mystery in a story like this, and the way that the story kept my mind working while reading the story. I enjoy the guessing of a story to figure out the who, what, when, or why, but I want the challenge of multiple characters to have to think about, not being able to figure it out right away and this story definitely challenged my brain. I give this book a 4.5-star review and if you like psychological thrillers, the mystery of figuring out the bad guy, and strong women characters, this book is a perfect choice.

Unfortunately, she gets the Inn’s mixed up where the wedding is being held and where her friend works, and there are a lot of things happening at the Boothbay Harbor Inn that Elizabeth gets caught up in. Little does she know, her quiet, relaxing weekend away from Connecticut will be anything but.

Lucretia Sterling is trying to restore the Boothbay Harbor Inn and bring it back to life, but her husband is strong arming her with the renovations and doesn’t want her to restore it the way she wants. He wants it his way. He has a lot of secrets and is a man who scares the people who work for him. The employees and the town folk love Lucretia, but not her husband Jonathan Sterling. He has a lot to prove to his family who cut him out of the family business back in England, and he does not want to see the Inn restored or equipped the way it was back when it was first opened. He wants to modernize it and make it more of an exclusive Inn.

This was my first read of Penny Goetjen, but I would love to go back and read the first book with Elizabeth, Murder on the Precipice. Her writing is suspenseful, intriguing, and edge of your seat. I loved how Elizabeth seemed to walk right into trouble at every turn and yet was able to walk away with minor injuries. She is drawn in by her inquisitive mind and the people who work at Boothbay Harbor Inn and in the town of Boothbay Harbor. There are a lot of questionable characters in this story and it had me wondering what each one was into and what they might do to Elizabeth.

I really enjoyed reading this book and loved the characters. I especially loved Elizabeth and her inquisitive mind. She is more like a detective than an interior decorator, even if she found herself in trouble, her inquisitive mind and her sense for adventure make her life interesting. I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy suspense, small town mysteries, and colorful characters.

My husband and I have vacationed in Boothbay Harbor as well as South Port a few times and reading this book brought me back to those vacations. They were relaxing and fun. We enjoyed some beautiful views and very friendly locals. Now I want to go back.

Shawnee’s back and in danger, again. Her life is about to take quite a turn with the secrets about her parents that she will try to get from Mr. Mayhem.

Mayhem, Poe, Edgar, and Allan’s lives will change in Silent Mayhem as well. Mayhem’s wife, Kimi will push the crows and Mayhem into Shawnee’s life to protect and warn her of the danger she is in. The crows may not like the fact that they need to try to protect her and warn her, but they’ll do it for Kimi and Mayhem.

Levaughn is working a case of a serial killer who decapitates and scalps his victims. There is no rhyme nor reason to the victims of the serial killer that can easily be found, and the track to the killer is not easy. Levaughn has to fight his distaste for working with FBI Special Agent Odin Barrett, when he finds out that he is working the case as well. The killer is working in two states, so the FBI are involved.

I really love reading Sue’s books. They are so full of information, sassy women, twists, and suspense that they draw me in from the first word and keep me tied up in the story until the very last page, even when that ending makes me want to scream! Sue did not disappoint with this story either. The information that was in this story for the murders and the possible reason for the killings, and the way the killer treated his victims was very interesting and I have to side with Shawnee, that the atrocities that were committed so many years ago made me just as angry as they did her. The side stories going on in Shawnee’s life are just as interesting as the main story of the murders and the murderer in Sue’s books. There is so much going on, but none of it distracts from the main story. It just gives it so much more to read and take in.

I love Shawnee and her take-no-bull attitude. Her exterior is hard, but she is secretly a kind hearted, softie. Her love for Levaughn, Maggie, and her best friend, Nadine, show her vulnerabilities as well as her softness. She is such a great character. I love her sassiness as much as her toughness that she shows.

I give this story a 5-star review and am anxiously awaiting the next book in June. I always recommend Sue’s books because they are just written so well, and they are so entertaining to read. If you are a lover of mysteries, suspense, murder, crime, or books with twists and sassy heroines you will love Sue Coletta’s books.

Some things in life defy comprehension, but that doesn’t make them any less real. Or deadly.

This book goes through the life of Steele Hill and the various things that happened throughout his life from 1986 until 1992. It goes through the various problems he had in his life and how he handled them. It includes the various characters that he hung out with, worked with and the police who were trying to frame him at one point. Steele seems to run into trouble a lot and his life is full of trouble and colorful characters

I give this book a 3.5-star review and would recommend it to readers who like suspense and are looking for something a little different. While the story was not a bad read, it was different than what I would normally read.

Sue has done it again! I was so happy to receive this book as an ARC and I am very happy to give an honest review of this book. I must say that Sue Coletta is one of those authors that I will purchase her books as soon as I hear that she has a new one out, without reading the blurb, or reviews. Sue is a great author and there is so much of her in her books. For anyone who follows Sue on social media and then reads her books will see her in the story. One of my favorite lines from the book is “We all want to be remembered after we die. Through the power of the written word authors are immortalized.” This is only part of the quote, but the quote really resonated with me and I loved it.

I loved Scathed. It was a story that had me thinking and trying to figure out who the killer was, but Sue doesn’t make it easy to figure out. The twists and turns in this story were intriguing and interesting. I found myself thinking one thing and finding out that I was not on the right trail after all. The characters are so real to me in Sue’s books. I love Niko and Sage, they are such a great couple and they work so well together to figure out the cases. They are so well developed that they feel like my neighbors. Being a Vermonter myself, I felt as if I could see the mountain they were on and the area they live in with no problem.

If you like stories that will draw you in, keep your interest throughout the book. This is a great book to pick up and read. I hated to put it down, and I hated to see it end. I wanted more of Niko and Sage. I love that Frankie is not afraid to be herself with everyone that she meets. She doesn’t hold anything back and that makes her a great character.

I loved the twist at the end and look forward to the next book in the Grafton County Series to see what happens next. I give this book a 5 star review and highly recommend it to anyone who likes crime, thrillers, and suspense stories and characters who will draw you in to their lives.

Brogan McLane, a young man who had a rough start to life has turned his life around and is now a Member of the Faculty of Advocates in the Scottish Supreme Court, he became a lawyer. He had a beautiful wife that he loved very much, a very good, long time friend who was on the wrong side of the law, but he would do anything for, and a career that he was very proud of. Until everything went wrong. A judge was murdered and Brogan McLane has been arrested for the murder.

Judge Aldounhill, a man who is power hungry, and a has a lot of secrets, is murdered in his home late at night after a rather sketchy party. He is a judge who got his position by telling his friends that if they put his name in to be judge, he would do the same for them in the next go round. However, he never helped anyone else out but himself. He made a lot of enemies by being a man who lied, cheated, and did what he could to get further in life in an unorthodox way.

Big Joe Malarky, a man who has been arrested a few times, but nothing has ever stuck. He is a big man who has a lot of loyal friends. His son is arrested and convicted of a crime he did not commit. Wee Joe Malarky will pay the price that his father has never had to pay. He is sentenced and put in jail with no luck of parole or appeal for the conviction. Big Joe’s wife is beside herself when they receive the second letter telling them that their son will not be able to appeal.

This story was very well written and really drew me in. As I read it, I wanted to know more of the story and couldn’t wait to find out the truth of the murder. The characters were very well developed and made me want to scream at some and shake the hands of others. The story has a lot of twists, detail and the connections to crimes and convictions is well hidden and developed.

I give this story a 5 star review. I look forward to reading more of this series and more from Mr. Mayers. Great job!

Magdalena (Maggie) Holt, a DEA Agent undercover in a Cartel who is in danger and has become a captive, is working very hard to get back home and take down the man who has taken her a prisoner and intends to sell her to the highest bidder. She’s helped some women escape the hell that has become her reality, but will she survive long enough to help the women she is locked away with and herself?

Maggie’s intent on getting home and taking down Chenglei in the process so that she can rid the world of one of the scariest men she has met. She’s locked away in a compound in Mexico and needs to find a way to get home and take Chenglei down in the process. She manages to escape along with 5 other women who were being held with her, they make it out of the compound and hide until help can get there to take them back to the US and home.

Adam O’Connor, Maggie’s partner in the DEA and former lover, is beside himself that Maggie has been gone for so long and that they cannot locate her to bring her home. His SAC Amanda Rhinehold wants nothing more than to bring Agent Holt home as well, but she is a woman who is in charge and has to follow protocol to do it. She is trying to get Agent O’Connor off the case because she feels he is too close to it. Adam is sure that once Maggie gets back home they can work things out and get back together, but he’s confused because he’s attracted to his SAC.

This is the 6th book in Jacquie Biggar’s Wounded Hearts Series and is the first one I have read in the series. I wish I had read the stories in order from the first one to this one, but it did not retract from the story as Ms. Biggar gives a lot of back story to understand what is going on. I really enjoyed this story and enjoy reading Ms. Biggar’s books. They are well written and the characters feel like someone you would meet on the streets and like as a person if you talked to them and got to know them.

If you like a strong men and very strong willed women and enjoy a story where the heroine hides her fear when doing her job, but always has to win, then you will love this book. I give this story a 5 star review, and I look forward to going back and reading the other stories in this series.

A different read for me, with a different twist at the end. Not what I expected at all.

Keller is looking to get pay back for his father’s sentencing after a heist gone wrong with the murder of an ex judge. He wants retribution for his father taking the fall for the disaster that occurred that day in NC.

Rebecca wants answers as to where her parents are and what happened to them. When she begins to dig around in old newspapers she only ends up with more questions.

This book goes back and forth between years with the history of what happened and present day. The story is well written and the back and forth between the years is done well.

This thriller will keep you hoping for the best for both of these young people who are thrown into this predicament because of their parents. This story shows that things aren’t always as they seem and that we may not always have the power to make our lives out to be what we hope for. I give this story a 4.5 star review. Although, the end left me with more questions than answers.

Returned to wonderful England – and unlikely ever to leave again – Jenny, with assistance from loyal hound, walked and swam her way back to manageable health.

Jenny would like to see the Northern Lights but worries that’s the best bit and should be saved till last. Very happily, and gratefully, partnered for 28 years, she ought to mention, and living with inspirational child in Derbyshire.
