Breaking Dawn 2, Twilight Series

This weekend Breaking Dawn 2 is released in cinemas across Britain.

Bella, now a vampire, must find and work on her special vampire skill. Jacob is there to protect baby Renesmee after he “Imprinted” on her. The Voltari find out about the forbidden vampire child and are coming to destroy her. The Cullens must protect their family, they recruit vampires from around the world in preparation for the final battle.

Will it be the end of this series? or will there be an ending from which sequels can be added? I hope the film will not have so many dark and hard to see scenes. I found myself peering at the screen for some of Breaking Dawn part 1 just to make out what was going on. I’ve re-watched the first three films in the series several times, but I must say, splitting the last book into 2 films didn’t encourage me to watch Breaking Dawn 1 over and over. Let’s hope this last film inspires me again.

Skyfall

The 23rd 007 James Bond film is due to Premier on the 23rd October and is due out for general release on the 26th October. This will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the series which began in 1962 with Dr. No.

The singer Adele has written and recorded the theme tune to Skyfall with Paul Epworth. and it is being played across the country in the run up to the film release.

A few years ago I read one of the Miss Moneypenny Diaries written by Kate Westbrook. A great set of stories which easily run along side the 007 films.

Then there is the Johnny English spoof and The Return of Johnny English, both with Rowen Atkinson, hilarious attempts to emulate the great 007.

For me I remember Christmas treat;  being allowed to stay up late to watch a James Bond film. The change in the actor playing the leading character has never bothered me because it’s all about the mysterious 007 rather than the man in the suit. Looking forward to seeing the film.
