My #Bookreview of #Humour novella Husband Training School by Ruth Harris

HUSBAND TRAINING SCHOOL: Humor (Strong, Savvy Women...And The Men Who Love Them Book 3) by [Harris, Ruth]Husband Training School by Ruth Harris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Husband Training School is a light humourous read, ideal for anyone who despairs over their partner’s domestic skills.

It’s the tale of three desperate women. Sissy Canholme is eight-and-a-half months pregnant and her husband still hasn’t finished preparing the nursery. JessieLynne Wessell can no longer tolerate the slob her partner has become and the mess he creates at home. Finally, since Howard Hopkins retired, Edna cannot take any more of his suggestions about how she can run the household more efficiently, while he stands by with a stop-watch.

All three women enrol their other halves in Husband Training School. It covers points like Supermarket for Beginners, Laundry 101 and Sensitivity Training – How To Understand Your Wife’s Feelings. Will their men successfully graduate and become the partners the ladies hope for?

I loved the classes the men had to take and their ability to almost bring the school down on its knees was amusing, but I was unconvinced by the direction in which the story ended.

THREE FED-UP WIVES–AND ONLY HUSBAND TRAINING SCHOOL STANDS BETWEEN THEM AND MURDER

Tougher than Harvard and more demanding than MIT, Husband Training School is under the command and control of its founder, twice-divorced former Marine Drill Instructor Robin Aguirre.

Hardened by years of experience, Robin knows how to train men the Marine Corps way–tear them down and build them back up. She is confident she has seen and heard it all as she prepares to meet her new students.

Will Trailer is a super-achiever on the baseball diamond but at home? Not so much, according to his gorgeous movie star wife.
Efficiency expert Howard Hopkins has just retired. His wife married him for better and for worse–but not for 24-hours-a-day.
Gordo Canholme would procrastinate breathing if he could, but will he ever get the new baby’s room ready? Not without HTS, according to his very pregnant wife.

Robin thinks she is ready for anything the most hapless and hopeless husbands of the 21st Century can dish out.

But is she?
