My Year of Doing Good Deeds – Year 2

Good deeds

This project was totally inspired after I read “A Year of Doing Good” by Judith O’Reilly. Her book may make you laugh or make you cry, but the world would be a better place if we all tried to spread a little love through doing good deeds.

A Year of Doing Good: One Woman, One New Year's Resolution, 365 Good Deeds. by Judith O'Reilly

  4. Fantastic idea!! I came here from WordsThatServe and loved her journals entirely. I’ve decided to give it a go myself.

No doubt I’ll have as much fun reading through yours as I did Serves, and get quite a few simple ideas when it comes to doing good deeds for those around us – ones that really do not involve a great deal of effort necessarily but that do genuinely make a big difference.

  20. This is so heartwarming Rosie. We all have a choice as to whether we pass through life in an anonymous self absorbed manner, or reach out to others and try to be empathetic and spread some comfort and happiness.

I’m always struck by the extremely taboo subject of loneliness and find it so shocking that in a world where there about 7 billion of us, anyone should suffer from feeling isolated and alone.

The Anais Nin thought, “When you make a world tolerable for yourself, you make a world tolerable for others.” resonates with me.

  22. How inspirational! Thank you for doing this and sharing it. I’d love to do something like this. I try to do something every day as it is, but I’ve never kept track, and this is giving me even more incentive!

  23. Exactly! I began on the 16th of April, I tried it for a couple of weeks and then went on from there. I’m not big on doing New Years resolutions, so many people give up those too easily. Do watch for my post I’m planning on the 20th April which talks about my year.
