The arctic temperatures have arrived this week! Well, we had a frost and the low temperatures look set for about a week. Nothing like the cold felt in other parts of the world. There is so little flowering in my garden that is new, this week, so I took my camera on a walk about as I went to the local shop.
I can only name three of the six plants that I have below: Holly, Yarrow and Buttercup.
These are the ones I can name!

These are the ones I’m unsure of!

All suggestions welcome.
Thank you for joining me for this #SixOnSaturday post. I hope that you enjoyed it. Jim is now our host for this gardening meme and you can find his blog here where you will be able to catch up with links from all the other folks who take part.
Happy gardening
Rosie
Your purple flower looks like Hebe to me. We have had lots of frost this week but this morning we have had snow, almost unheard of in Devon in December!

Thank you. Another cold morning here, but no snow in my corner of Hampshire.

Hebe, Rosemary and Photinia, though what Photinia is doing flowering now I don’t know.

Thanks Jim, I thought there would be some gardeners who would know.

The middle one looks like Rosemary… its fragrance ( leaves rubbed) would give it away. It’s wonderful to be able to see flowers in the neighborhood, eh?

Thanks Chris, I was going to have a ‘feel’ but as it wasn’t my garden and all their cars were there, I didn’t want to go too far!

Not quite so cold here, Rosie, although it’s supposed to get chillier overnight. The second one looks very familiar, but I am not sure about the flowers, as sometimes colours don’t look quite right in the pics. Rosemary or Thyme, perhaps?

Thanks Olga, Rosemary seems to be the general consensus.

You seem to have some lovely plants still looking in tip top condition. The holly is very seasonal I like its shining leaves and berries.

Lovely to have had answers. The flowers on the photinia are amazing – usually a spring arrival. My rosemary is flowering now too.

My pink fushia was still in flower until the frost got to it. Looking very sorry for itself now. It’s in a tub so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’ll be ok.

Yes the frosts have taken things now.

I’m glad all the plants have been identified – I was curious to know what they were! It certainly is chillier, we even had a bit of snow here early this morning.

I think the snow is heading our way today, although we plan to go the the Cotswolds this afternoon to visit a relative. There may be more snow in that direction.

I thought that was Photinia, how unusual for December. My rosemary is flowering, but there is no snow…

I’m not a fan of snow as we don’t deal with it well when it happens in this country.

Lovely photos. Yes, I recognised the rosemary but not the others, I knew that Jim would be able to name them all.

Great idea going to the garden centre. 💜 I love looking at garden centres from other countries. It’s interesting to see what people grow. The purple one is hebe from New Zealand, as mentioned. I have never been successful with hebes in my garden because I guess I don’t water them enough to their satisfaction!
