Appointed By Fate is a romantic suspense set in Des Moines, Iowa.
Officer Levi Quinn discovers a dead drug dealer and a sleeping suspect at a lakeside on Halloween.
Cameron Shearer awakes from a drug induced sleep and finds himself being cautioned for the murder of Jimmy Nichols. This was not what he had planned when he was asked by his mob boss to investigate a rival dealer moving into the Iowa area.
Joci Dorous has worked hard to get where she is as a lawyer, and now she has high profile murder case. Someone rich is paying the bill and wants two lawyers dealing with it; the only problem for Joci is that she must now work with her ex. There’s an added twist when Joci discovers their client is a childhood friend and former crush.
This story might test the romance boundaries for some readers; Joci has her hands very full with three ‘hot’ men who all compete for her. We are also asked to suspend a certain amount of disbelief in areas of Joci’s professional role. However, if you are happy to accept the storyline, then there are sizzling romantic possibilities, tension from danger and a wide range of conflicting emotions to get you through to an exciting finale. Readers who enjoy the book have an opportunity to read more about both Joci and Cameron in book #2 of the series.
