Romance in a small-town US setting with strong writing and religious themes, this is a sweet love story.
Gracie’s about to lose the nursing home she’s lived and breathed for years, while Brandt’s family farm is failing and his ideas for conversion require money. When both enter the local scavenger hunt to win the cash prize to save their businesses, they get more than they bargained for what with nursing home residents on the loose and their past coming back to haunt them…
The plot was deep and emotional, with the characters well-drawn and relatable. The setting, too, was very well portrayed and the author transported you to the close, occasionally stifling, small town of Cupid’s Crossing. Unfortunately, for me, the strong religious message of the book overshadowed the story too much for my enjoyment. If you like your romance with a heavy dose of God though, this is one for you.
