Shelley has been reading Unlimited Energy Now by Catherine Carrigan

Unlimited Energy Now, aims to identify the area you need to work on by following the instructions in each unit. The book is set out in five ‘sections’ each divided into short chapters.

The first section is about the physical body, and having suffered from adrenal fatigue in the past I was intrigued to read about stress and the impact on your adrenals. There was a single paragraph about adrenal stress followed by a list of symptoms and then a numbered list of strategies that would help. I would have liked more information, maybe a few case studies to demonstrate how the strategies work.

Many of Carrigan’s strategies I already use, but it never hurts to re-evaluate and remind yourself how simple tools, such as placing a cushion behind your lower back, can help with your well-being. There are a few tips that you can integrate into your lifestyle dotted throughout the book.

There is a chapter on digestion, which is where I sometimes struggle, so I read this with interest. Carrigan explains what our digestive system is like when it’s balanced and healthy, and then goes on to explain how it can affect us when it’s not good. I could relate to this and was happily nodding along, but then the chapter ends without any information on how to heal my digestive tract. We are directed to check four specifics – how do we check this? With who? Can it be done at home, or do we need a doctor?

I agree with Carrigan’s philosophy; ‘When you are blessed with unlimited energy, you enjoy everything you do,’ unfortunately, for me, this book didn’t go deep enough to help me achieve that. If you are new to the self-help and the alternative health genre, and this was the first book you read on the subject, then you would be confused by many of the references as the author merely skims the surface of her topics. On the subject of chakras, we are given no explanation as to what they are, where they are, or the history of chakras. We are simply instructed to place our hand on the sixth chakra – where is it?

The author clearly knows what she is talking about and lives, works, and breathes these techniques. I would have liked her to dig deeper, explore the topics in greater detail and maybe include examples/case studies.

I gave Unlimited Energy Now a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

  1. I like the premise for this book, but sounds like the author would have benefitted from working with a good editor to identify where the holes in the book lie.
