Welcome to Day 3 of #RomancingSeptember
Our guest today is Linda Lee Williams and her book Old Town Nights
Where is your hometown?
I hail from Chicago, Illinois, but have lived in Denver, Colorado, for twenty-five years.
How long have you been writing romance?
Since the 1980s. I started self-publishing my novels several years ago.
What is your favorite subgenre of romance?
Paranormal, fantasy, or science fiction.
Where is your book set?
Chicago, Illinois.
Tell us about Abby.
Abby Lawrence is a successful real estate broker on Chicago’s north side. She’s outgoing, spunky, and driven to be the best. Because her father deserted her family when she was young, she has trust issues—especially where men are concerned. Abby often finds herself in the position of caring for her irresponsible younger sister, Sally, which backfires on her after she meets Ambrose Slater.
What is the Slater family business?
The Slaters own two successful bakeries, one in Old Town and the other in Lincoln Square. As Ambrose points out: It’s the ideal occupation for the “sleepless in Chicago.”
How does Ambrose trick Abby to get her alone?
He makes an appointment with her to view a house he knows is vacant. After that, it’s just a matter of time before he makes his big move!
Ambrose isn’t an ordinary man, is he? What is different about him?
Ambrose is a vampire-human hybrid. Although he’s mortal, he does possess a hidden set of fangs and a craving for blood.
Tell us what you are working on at the moment.
A Christmas novella titled The Breadth of the Soul. As with my other books, the story is a contemporary romance with a paranormal twist.

I guess Abby is right not to trust men if they turn out to have fangs…LOL I’m intrigued to find out what happens here! Love the cover by the way

Thank you, Helen. My hubby is an artist and illustrates my book covers. (Lucky me!) It’s worth noting that there are no werewolves, shape-shifters, or other “supernatural creatures” in my series. Only quirky family members and their friends!

For me, different yet enticing – worth a punt.

Thanks, Margaret–give it a good kick! Who knows how far it might go?

Love the cover too …and of all the scaries out there, why do we find vampires soooo attractive? Because we do.

Thanks, Adrienne. My vampire-human hybrids are nice…despite that extra pair of teeth! I tried to write a vampire series that was “different.” The Slaters could be your next-door neighbors!

A different premise for a book. I visited Chicago in 1989 and the memories the The Windy City have stayed with me. Sounds like this book could evoke those memories even more. Good Luck.

Lizzie, I miss Chicago and enjoy visits when I go back to see my family. I hatched the idea for my book when I was walking the streets–no, not as a hooker, ha ha!–on my way to a Halloween party in Old Town. Saw a lot of convincing vampire costumes and thought…What if?

Thanks for inviting me to participate, Rosie. I’m honored to be part of the tour. Also, appreciate everyone’s comments and support. Old Town Nights is the first novel in my four-part Blood & Company Series. It’s more about quirky families than vampires!

The premise sounds interesting. I’ve sent a link over to my daughter. She loves paranormal novels and prefers a series–sounds like a winner! Good luck with the novel.

A vampire-human hybrid? I’ve never heard that before. I wouldn’t trust him either, no matter my trust issues with men Ha ha.

They’re not your “usual vampires.” If readers like stories about quirky families and friends, they might enjoy the Blood & Company Series.
