Letter F The April A to Z Challenge #AtoZChallenge

Day 6 of the April A to Z Challenge and my these is characters from books I’ve read, plus an audience participation piece.

Letter F is for James Finn from Business As Usual by E.L. Lindley

Business As Usual is the first book in the Georgie Connelly crime series. Georgie is a documentary film maker, and we meet Georgie as she plans her next job to expose Gentleman’s Clubs.

Worried for her safety from a previous job, Georgie’s boss Eric, employs ex-marine James Finn to look after her, but trouble finds Georgie in several ways. Firstly she’s been found drunk and disorderly and forced to do several hours of community service at a local school. When one of her students, 16 year old Terri, goes missing, fingers point to En Vogue a high end of the market club run by Russian businessman Maxim Petrov.

Never one to listen to advice Georgie storms right in to Petrov’s world in an attempt to find Terri. Petrov definitely needs exposing but he is a dangerous man with plenty of influence in high places. Georgie’s documentary research leads her in to serious danger when her Maverick spirit takes her one step too far.

This was a great read with a storyline which kept me enthralled and wanting to know what trouble Georgie will get herself into in the next book.

For my audience participation I’m asking readers to make up book titles using the letter F for the picture below.

A book title and cover picture can often make or break a book sale. Isย a book coverย eye-catching? Does the book title appeal to the reader?

Have fun creating book titles from my own pictures, you might even think about a genre they could fit.

  5. This is such a great book (and a terrific series) and I’m a big fan of James Finn…as well as Georgie and E.L. of course!! How about ‘Feeding Frenzy’ the end of the world is nigh (as we’re told it will be should bees become extinct) after a bee annihilation programme instigated by the evil Doctor Waspish (who is envious of their superior pollination techniques) but a few heroic bees escape his evil clutches and set out to save the world with their mad cross pollination skills… hmm not sure I got enough sleep last night ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I am flabbergasted, a bit frazzled and also frantic on this F-Day.
(I wanted to use those words in a title, but couldn’t come up with anything, so I just put them into that sentence. LOL)

Title: To Bee Or Not To Bee.
Non-fiction. An informative look at the 25,000 known species of bees worldwide, including info such as size, type, population and region.

  8. Thanks so much Rosie and to everyone for their kind comments about Business As Usual. What about The Sweetest Kiss a nice old fashioned romance?

  9. Hi Rosie – the George Connolly series of books looks like they’d be great reads. As for your Hibiscus flower … “Hibiscus Honey honing in too early … H is two days away”

  10. Hi Rosie. I haven’t heard of this series, but it sounds like Georgie’s impetuosity gets her into lots of trouble that Finn has to get her out of. ๐Ÿ™‚
Many thanks for the mention of my blog – much appreciated. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. A day late, I know, and I think I’ve missed out on E. . E L Lindley’s Business as Usual sounds like my kind of book. Definitely to be added to my TBR list.
Title: Femme Fatale – can’t think what it has to do with a bee slurping pollen though.
