Welcome to Day 3 of Romancing September Across The World Tour. Our guest today is Terry Tyler. Catch up with more from Terry in a few hours with the second part of our tour when Stephanie chats to her.
Where is your home town?
I live in Geordieland, but prefer not to give out anything more specific than that on the internet!
How long have you been writing romance?
Although all my books contain love relationships as a fairly central theme, I don’t think of myself as a writer of romance per se. I’ve been writing on and off for over 20 years.
What is your favourite sub-genre of romance?
Historical, but not the Regency romance type ‘bodice rippers’; more those that illustrate eras of real history. Also what’s generally known as ‘romantic suspense’ – I like something with a bit of plot other than girl meets boy, girl loses boy, girl gets boy back again. I like grand passion, rather than rom com flirtation – serious love and loss stuff!
Are you allowed to tell us about Sophie’s boyfriend’s new pastime?
Ha ha! No way – far too much of a spoiler! Suffice to say that after the research I did for it, I deleted the ‘cookies’ from my computer. To anyone who is reading this, I’d just like to say that Rosie wrote this question before she read the book, and laughed when I reminded her of it; I’m not sure what else to say – you’ll have to read it, too!
Is there a friendly ghost in your book?
Yes! She’s lovely. A guardian angel who only has Sophie’s best interests at heart – and maybe a little bit of revenge….
How does Sophie get to visit the past?
With the help of her guardian angel – I don’t want to give any more away or it’ll spoil the story.
Does Aunt Flick’s lovely character still have influence after she’s gone?
Yes! For it is she who is the guardian angel
Does Sophie see in her fortieth birthday feeling more positive about life?
No, she’s in tears. But she’s in a much better frame of mind by the end of the day…..
Tell us what you are working on at the moment.
The sequel to Kings and Queens, which is called Last Child and I hope will be ready by about January.

I’ve read several of Terry’s books – all great, all different.
I loved this one. I want an Aunt Flick.

Thanks, June – I am very pleased to hear that! I dedicated it to my pretend niece (really my former stepdaughter’s best friend – yes, it’s complicated!), because she’s always seen me as her Auntie Flick… I’m not ready to be a guardian angel yet, tho!!

Your book sounds fab, Terry. Best of luck with it and I hope you have a great day on Rosie’s and Stephanie’s blog today. Caroline. P.s your title made me smile. Up here on Anglesey they film a Welsh popular sitcom called “Rownd a Rownd” – no prizes for guessing what the English translation is!!

Ha ha! I loved Anglesey when I went there, many years ago. Thanks! x

Angels are intriguing, I come across them all the time, Terry. I totally believe in Earth Angels too, someone who just pops into your life and changes it forever! Your book is now a must-read for me.

Thank you EL, Monica and Adrienne – and yes, Adrienne, I do too. Sometimes the way in which you meet people who have such a good influence on your life is so random, can’t be just chance, surely???!!! Or indeed, you can be their Earth Angel… :O

Thanks for the additional information on the book, though it was short and sweet. But it is fun to hear more about a book your curious about. I especially love the touch of the guardian angel/ghost, its fun to know that their is one in there, after all they for the most part make everything a little fun.
