Secrets of the Unaltered by Leti Del Mar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is the second in the Confederation series and is a YA Dystopian romance. Flynn Rivers and Rose Dartmoor are returning to the Capital of the Confederation called Citivas. They have joined the rebellion and are on a mission to infiltrate the records at the hospital and find out more about the genetically enhanced soldiers that they discovered near Eureka.
The City is full of people obsessed with their looks. They have their facial features altered for fashion. They also go to extreme lengths with colours to be fashionable. Whilst in the city, Rose’s father wants her to study medicine, an extremely bright learner, Rose believes this chance may help the rebel cause.
Flynn gets a job helping out in a botany lab and learns about plants as medicines, which will help the people who live unaltered lives. But they can’t find any records about the soldiers. What does the prison hide? Rose believes the prison has the answers and the pair go on a dangerous mission to the prison records room and discover just how far some of the genetic experiments have gone.
This is spine tingling tale about how far people will push for power, vanity and desperation. The story will continue in book three.
