A woman’s journey through the darkest depths of human emotion and life. A man’s struggle with heartache, redemption and finding love again. Do second chances really exist?

Tessa Cosma is a deceptively sweet businesswoman who knows how to ride the wave of chaos in corrupt, post-communist Romania to maintain the lifestyle she so carefully built for herself. Her ideal world shatters when an unplanned pregnancy ends after a brutal assault. To compound her troubles, she must unravel a fraud accusation that threatens her reputation and career.

Alessandro Santinelli, the charismatic Italian banker with whom she spent an incredible, lust-filled night a year ago, comes to her rescue. Tessa refuses his help and chooses to rise above the devastating forces of death, betrayal and fraud to prove her innocence and discover her true self.

  1. This sounds great, full of depth and adventure. There are just sooooo many good books out there, many more than could be read in any single lifetime – how to choose? Your challenge seems to be going from strength to strength…and H being the first letter of my name, I had to check this out:-) Hugs, H xxx

      • That’s true. I’m currently writing a romance and I was a bit concerned that it didn’t fall into the right category for romance. Now I’m discovering as a genre it really is quite broad in terms of how you write it, whether it’s a paranormal romance or a romantic comedy or something else.

    • HI Elaine,

As the “mom” of this book I can tell you it’s not a thriller (I’m too scared of either movies or books that are THAT scary LOL). It has suspense more than anything because the heroine tries to find out who framed her, but nothing of the gripping elements needed for a thriller.
I saw your answer below about your writing. First of all congratulation on your novel. Writing is a long and lonely journey where passion meets our imaginary friends and come out as incredible timeless stories. We leave something behind us for generations to read and love. Aren’t we lucky?

      • Hi Camelia, thanks for your lovely message. I think romance is a great genre, partly because there’s so much scope for it – in some ways I think you can make it what you want.

Different authors approach it in different ways and I like how as an author I can experiment with how I tell a romantic story. And yes we’re definitely lucky as authors to be able to leave something behind. 🙂

  2. Yes second chances are possible especially in romance. My wip is called The Soul Collector’s Second Chance. It didn’t start as a romance but this version I’m challenging myself to write it as a romance.

  3. Thank you all who stopped by and left comments. Hidden Heart loves attention, I mean Tessa, the heroine. She took me on quite a journey, first up heel, then plunging into abyss and not stopping until hitting rock bottom. Her comeback was yet another battle, but ultimately she came out victorious, kind of like all of us, women from all over the world that fight for what is right and in the process, find someone to share it with. Happy reading!

    • Bradley,
I hope your second chance is only steps away. Loss (any kind of loss) does something to our souls no other emotion/feeling can. But it also makes us stronger and brings out of us things we never thought we were capable of.
I remember after my divorce I swore I’ll never love again/remarry, etc. 9 yr. later my heart beat faster than the first time, so much more ripe and aware of what was happening to me, with no way of stopping it. I was scared out of my skin but I didn’t want the new love to ever stop.
What I’m trying to say is that second chances do exist if we leave the window to our heart open….

Lots of sun and smiles from AZ and don’t give up hope 🙂

  4. I like how the heroine seems strong and independent, wanting to rescue herself rather than rely on someone else. Intriguing! Popping over from A to Z, good luck with the rest of the challenge!
